How to book a course
Who can book a class?
- All current financial members of SeniorNet Nelson are eligible to take courses.
- To find out how to join SeniorNet Nelson click here.
Should I have my own computer?
- You must have your own computer, tablet or Smartphone before you take a class so you can practise your new skills regularly.
- In classes you can use SeniorNet PCs or Macs but we do not have tablets and Smartphones for students.
How do I know what classes are available?
- The Course Timetable (click here for a direct link) gives the start and finish date of Courses which are planned for the next few weeks.
- It gives the times, the number of sessions and the cost.
- It also contains the contact details of the person taking bookings.
- Sessions are 2 hours, and courses of more than one session are held on the same day on consecutive weeks where possible.
How do I know what each course involves?
- To read the contents of a course before you enrol Click here for a list of Courses A-Z, then click the name of the course you are interested in,
- OR click the title of the course you are interested in on the Timetable.
- This will avoid your joining a course which is not suited to your skills or your operating system.
- Do contact the tutor to check should you be in any doubt.
- Please have your membership number handy when you ring or email to book - it is on the back of your name badge.
What do I do if the TimeTable says the course is full?
- If the course is full click the following link to send an email to SeniorNet - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
- Name the course you are interested in and your name will be added to a waiting list.
- When there are enough members wanting the same course, and when a tutor can be found, the course will be added to the Timetable, so keep checking.
Are there any prerequisites to my taking a course?
- You will need the appropriate program or app which will be used in the course already on your computer or other device.
- Find someone to help you if you are not sure about this, or visit one of our Help & Practice Sessions.
- Any other prerequisites needed are mentioned in the Course Details
.NOTE - You may repeat a course if you wish at half the cost.
