Overview

Thunderbird is a free email program for Windows and Mac users that's easy to set up..

Prerequisites

This is a basic course aimed at Beginners. It is assumed that you have basic computing skills. You should have the current version of Thunderbird installed on your device* but if not it can be installed during the course. You must know your email address and password or be prepared to create a new email account.

*either search on Google for Thunderbird or download from Thunderbird

Learning Objectives

You will learn about:

  • How to set up an email account in Thunderbird
  • Where to find tools and program settings
  • Features of Thunderbird which help you
  • How to enter a new address in your address book
  • Ways to send emails to a contact and to a number of contacts
  • Forwarding and filing emails 
  • Sending an attachment. Opening an attachment
  • Including pictures in your emails
  • Spotting dangerous email attachments
  • Some basic email etiquette
