New Members:

When new members join SeniorNet they are invited to attend a Meet and Greet session where advice is given on recommended courses for each individual. We do suggest starting with the basics even if you have experience. You will fill gaps in your knowledge no matter how skilled you are. All our tutors have done basic courses and often say they learn something new every time they take a course.

Two ways of helping you decide which course or workshop to take:

  1. On the top menu bar:
    • Hover your mouse over Courses
    • Click Courses by system
    • Click the title for your operating system to see a selection of courses for that system
(click here for more information about operating systems)
    • Click a course title to find out more about that course
Choose a course that is at a suitable level for your experience - you will find any prerequisites in the course description
  2. On the top menu bar:
    • Hover your mouse over Start
    • Click Plan your courses
    • Scroll to the bottom of the article that opens to see a number of icon links
    • Click a subject you are interested in from the How-do-I... projects
    • In the article that opens choose a course or workshop that interests you
    • Click the title or image to find out more about that course

Once you have decided on a course:

  • Click Timetable on the top menu bar to find out when the next course is scheduled
  • To register for a course, get in touch with the contact listed for that course on the Timetable.
  • If no course is scheduled you may email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and ask to be put on a waiting list.
  • Many people repeat a course or workshop to reinforce their learning; repeat courses are half price if taken again within a year.
  • Tutors are friendly: please consult your last tutor for advice on the suitability of courses to match your skills.
