One x 2-hour session Cost $10
For Android or Apple mobile devices

Overview

Swype is a virtual keyboard for Android and Apple touchscreen smartphones and tablets. Rather than tapping in each key the user enters words by sliding a finger or stylus from the first letter of a word to its last letter, lifting only between words. It uses error-correction algorithms and a language model to guess the intended word. It also includes a predictive text system, handwriting and speech recognition support.

Prerequisites

  • Possess an Android or Apple touchscreen phone or tablet capable of downloading the Swype App.
(Preferably installed on your device prior to our workshop)

Objectives

  • To introduce you to an alternative method of entering and correcting text on your device. ‘Swypeing’ is much quicker and more efficient than tapping words one letter at a time
  • Voice recognition is also introduced in this workshop
