Android: Smartphone Messaging

Overview:

This course follows on from the one called Android Starter so you must have those basic skills with your Android Smartphone. The course is not suitable for absolute beginners. The sessions are limited to 4 students.

Prerequisites:

To take this course you must already have basic skills gained in the Android Starter course.

If you are ready to use messaging apps please contact the tutor to discuss the prerequisites and to enrol.

Learning Objectives:

• Configure your Android Smartphone and install your ISP’s email account,
• Compose, send and receive emails using your Android Smartphone,
• Use selected message apps which supersede traditional texting & emailing.
• Send attachments such as  pictures, documents or voice messages with these message apps.
• Avoid use of text-messaging where cost is likely to prove advantageous if using a  ‘free’ broadband service.
• Send voice messages - such use being well justified under certain circumstances.
