Overview

Microsoft Windows Excel is used for Spreadsheet and Database lessons.


Prerequisites

  • You need to be familiar with common computer techniques typically used through web browsing, emailing, word processing.
  • You need a basic understanding of arithmetic functions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Learning Objectives

You will learn about:
  • Screen basics
  • Data entry into a spreadsheet
  • Editing and formatting
  • Using standard toolbars
  • Calculations, formulas and functions
  • Saving files
  • Copying and printing sheets
  • Recording financial transactions
  • Constructing a database
  • Managing, sorting and filtering data
  • Using the drawing toolbar
  • Creating charts
  • Other practical uses.
On completion of the course you should be able to:
  • Prepare a spreadsheet, edit and format it
  • Apply formulas and functions to a spreadsheet
  • Use the standard and drawing toolbars
  • Create charts from spreadsheet data
  • Set up a database, manage, sort and filter it
  • Save an Excel file
  • Print and copy spreadsheets or database information
