Overview
Microsoft Windows Excel is used for Spreadsheet and Database lessons.
Prerequisites
- You need to be familiar with common computer techniques typically used through web browsing, emailing, word processing.
- You need a basic understanding of arithmetic functions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Learning Objectives
You will learn about:
- Screen basics
- Data entry into a spreadsheet
- Editing and formatting
- Using standard toolbars
- Calculations, formulas and functions
- Saving files
- Copying and printing sheets
- Recording financial transactions
- Constructing a database
- Managing, sorting and filtering data
- Using the drawing toolbar
- Creating charts
- Other practical uses.
On completion of the course you should be able to:
- Prepare a spreadsheet, edit and format it
- Apply formulas and functions to a spreadsheet
- Use the standard and drawing toolbars
- Create charts from spreadsheet data
- Set up a database, manage, sort and filter it
- Save an Excel file
- Print and copy spreadsheets or database information
- Select from a range of other practical uses of Excel.
